How do I play?
Your goal is to guess the hidden word (?). Each guess reveals information about the shared etymological history of your guess and the hidden target.
The edge labels show an etymological ancestor of each word.
How do I read the graph?
Ellipses are specific words — the target, your
guesses, or a shared ancestor term (e.g. PIE *peh₂-).
Boxes are shared language ancestors (e.g.
Latin, Proto-Germanic). Each edge is labeled with the cognate
connecting that word to the shared ancestor.
